Fair Trade in Sterzing too
The World Shop Sterzing is one of the youngest shops in South Tyrol. The association "Eine – Weltladen – Sterzing" (One World Shop Sterzing) was founded at the end of 1999. The shop itself was able to open at the beginning of 2000.
The shop emerged from the Sterzing One World Group. This group had been active for years, organizing the Soup Sunday annually, participating in the Christmas market, holding various lectures in Sterzing, and supporting smaller projects in the South.
With the help of an employee from the Brixen World Shop, the group was eventually able to participate in the monthly markets in Sterzing with the World Shop's products. Participation in the markets was a success, and the group gained new employees, new ideas, and new courage.
On December 30, 1999, the time had come. The association "Eine-Welt-Laden Sterzing" (One World Shop Sterzing) with ten members was founded. Now it was time to recruit new employees, raise funds, and organize the daily operations of the shop.
On March 25, 2000, the grand opening of the Sterzing World Shop took place. Nothing now stood in the way of sales and the essential information and educational work.
Since August 1, 2021, we welcome our customers to our new business premises at Altstadt No. 5.
