World Shop Latsch

Regionality and product development

Founded in 2015, the World Shop Latsch stands for the principle of fair trade worldwide and regionally. In addition to products from Latin America, Africa and Asia, it offers high-quality food and handicrafts from South Tyrol. These mainly come from Vinschgau farms and from workshops for people with disabilities. This promotes small local cycles, strengthens small-scale farms and avoids long transport routes. Depending on the season, various fruit and vegetables are available. This means there is asparagus in spring, strawberries in summer and chestnuts in autumn.
A special feature of the World Shop Latsch is its enthusiasm for developing its own products, which connects producers from Latin America and Asia with local producers on an equal footing. The single-origin Arabica coffee "Juanita" is harvested and sun-dried by the Pech Indians in Honduras and roasted in the Vinschgau by Alps Coffe. The apple-mango juice "Malaya" combines Fair Trade organic mangoes from the Philippines with organic apples from the Vinschgau. The proceeds support the children's rights organisation Preda, which works for abused children in the Philippines.
