“It is time, time for a change, time for rethinking, time to take care of each other.”

Rudi Dalvai, President of the World Shop Bolzano and former President of the WFTO

Fair Trade

“Fair Trade is a trading partnership, based on dialogue, transparency and respect, that seeks greater equity in international trade. It contributes to sustainable development by offering better trading conditions to, and securing the rights of, marginalized producers and workers – especially in the South.

Fair Trade organisations (backed by consumers) are engaged actively in supporting producers, awareness raising and in campaigning for changes in the rules and practice of conventional international trade.”

Fair Trade in South Tyrol

Currently there are 13 independently organised World Shops in South Tyrol. In 2013 the World Shops united to a network to promote Fair Trade in South Tyrol. The association guarantees each World Shop its independence, whereby simultaneously projects, meaningful for all World Shops can be elaborated together.

On the one hand it is essential to support our producers, on the other hand it is of great importance to sensitise the public to Fair Trade and to highlight grievances and human rights abuses within the international market.

“The World Shops could not exist without the active support of our numerous volunteers. The work itself and the interaction with the people is enriching and fulfilling. Contentment comes easily from my heart.”

Heidi Mair am Tinkhof, Person in Charge Bottega del Mondo Campo Tures

“I am convinced of our global world being a world for all, where everybody should have a minimum to be happy. This collective happiness should be obtained by engagement free of any economic motives. The volunteer work itself gives plentiful- more than it claims and exactly for this reason I am volunteering since many years.”

Michele Braito, President Bottega del Mondo Egna

“Volunteer work is something extremely positive. In return for my commitment have gained knowledge about products and their producers, besides making various precious experiences.”

Ulrica Stuffer, Volunteer Bottega del Mondo Val Gardena
