Fair Trade Shop Val Gardena
Our Story
On March 31, 2007, the time had finally come: after a group of initiators had found a suitable location and enough volunteers, they succeeded in establishing a Fair Trade Shop in Val Gardena.
The approximately 50 volunteers quickly grew into a close-knit community, always striving to satisfy customers and provide information.
From the very beginning, the volunteers of the Val Gardena Fair Trade Shop aimed to raise awareness among the population, especially children and young people, about the idea of Fair Trade. Various concerts, lectures, training courses, festivals, Fair Breakfasts, and other meetings and activities were held.

Furthermore, the staff of the Fair Trade Shop also introduced the concept of Fair Trade in school classes. In addition, the JAWA project of “Nëus Jëuni” enables many young people to work in the Fair Trade Shop.
Thanks to the interest and awareness of the Val Gardena population, it has been possible to continue operating the Fair Trade Shop. Looking back, these have been very positive years, during which much has been achieved and implemented. A big thank you goes to all those who support the Fair Trade Shop – in whatever form.
